Mido warning for Alves

Mido has warned his fellow Middlesbrough striker Afonso Alves that he will have to get used to the rough and tumble of The Premier League.
Boro shelled out a club record fee to lure Alves to Boro in the January transfer window, but he has yet to show the form which brought him to prominence with Dutch side Heerenveen.
Mido has revealed that Alves sought him out following their FA Cup clash with Sheffield United.

”Afonso came to see me after the last tie against Sheffield United and asked if it was always like this,” Mido told The Daily Express. “I told him he had to expect that sort of defending every week in The Premier League and FA Cup.
”You have to be prepared to fight for every ball as that is what happens here.
”I am not saying they don’t tackle in Dutch football, but over here it is tougher and the pace of the game is much faster.
”Having played at Ajax I know what it is like and Afonso has to adapt his game.
”He is very sharp in training and we have to be patient with him.”
